As the fire spread, the Civil Protection issued an emergency alert via the 112 system, advising residents in the area to close doors and windows and to remain on high alert, following safety instructions.

The blaze, which occurred in the forecourt of a chemical and fertiliser factory, was eventually brought under control. A total of 25 firefighters, supported by 8 fire engines, the Special Chemical Team of the 1st EMAK, and a helicopter, were mobilised to tackle the fire. Local water resources also played a crucial role in the firefighting efforts.
