According to ERT, the fire remains distant from inhabited areas but continues to spread. Today, firefighting efforts are concentrated on the fronts near Mesoropi and Platanotopos in Kavala, as well as Rodolivos and Proti in Serres.
Seven aerial units—six helicopters and one aircraft—began water drops early this morning, while 280 firefighters, supported by 25 vehicles, 46 ground units, and numerous volunteers, are battling the blaze. The calmer weather today is aiding their efforts. As a precaution, firebreaks are being established around the villages on Mount Pangaio to protect them from the advancing flames.
