As a result of the strike, there will be suspensions and modifications to train schedules across the country. However, Metro Line 3 routes to and from the airport will continue to operate normally. For the benefit of passengers, Hellenic Train, in coordination with the unions, will provide limited services with security personnel.

Yesterday, the 24-hour strike was deemed lawful by the Court, reinforcing the unions’ claims. In their statement, the SEP and PEP TRAINOSE said, “The truth shone today despite the fairy tales of the testimony from the business witness, who attempted to present a ‘golden wrapper’ on a company that is ‘rotten’ and has ‘feet of glass.’ The management of Hellenic Train, following this clear decision, must finally reach into its pockets and ensure safe, efficient, and fast transportation for passengers, as well as immediate staff recruitment to guarantee quality and safe working conditions. It’s time to introduce modern, new traffic equipment!”

The unions are also demanding that Hellenic Train’s management take immediate action to address ongoing safety and staffing concerns. They emphasised that after the completion of the legal 24-hour strike on Thursday, they will seek a meeting with the administration to establish a clear timetable for implementing the Court’s decision.
