The programme began at 11.00am in Chalandri’s central square, where a collection of pharmaceutical supplies took place alongside a musical programme featuring Latin American artists.
The main event was held at 7.00pm at the Chalandri Youth Centre (corner of Danaidon and Antigonis Streets), focused on the US blockade of Cuba and its effects on the island’s population.
Speakers included the Cuban Ambassador to Greece, Aramis Fuentes Hernández, and Kostas Isychos, representative of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defence of Humanity (REDH). Greetings were delivered by the mayor of Chalandri, Simos Roussos, and university professor Takis Politis, while Pablo Allende, representative of REDH Chile and grandson of former Chilean president Salvador Allende, addressed the gathering via video message. The event was coordinated by journalist Nikos Xydakis.
