ADEDY, the umbrella confederation of public sector unions, has called on all public sector workers to join en masse. ‘Public and private sector workers, through our unions and through organised, collective struggle, will put a stop to plans that treat working people as expendable and disregard our lives for the sake of their profits,’ it said in its call.

Participation decisions have so far been taken by the labour centres of Piraeus and Lavrio–Eastern Attica, along with the federations of private employees, accountants, textile–clothing–leather workers, builders, pharmacists, hospital doctors, and special education workers, as well as the Federation of IKA Pensioners.

A wide array of individual unions, syndicates, and professional associations have also announced their participation, spanning sectors including energy, commerce, food and tourism, local government, telecommunications, healthcare, education, the postal service, the pharmaceutical industry, the audiovisual sector, and airport and maritime workers, among others.
