Katrinis spoke of serious security gaps and demanded immediate answers from the government and the competent authorities regarding the origin and route of the unmanned vessel, as well as whether it was carrying dangerous materials.

The PASOK MP criticised the government’s response, saying the competent services were ‘conspicuous by their absence’, while warning against treating the incident as a ‘private matter’, in an indirect reference to the wiretapping scandal.

‘Responsibility for protecting the borders, airspace and territorial waters lies with the government,’ he stressed, concluding that people in Greece are realising the country is ‘wide open’.
