The prime minister described the new digital platform as a transparency tool that will help consumers compare prices and monitor how they evolve, stressing that it is ‘here to stay’. He noted that high prices remain one of the most important challenges for Greek households and require coordinated interventions at multiple levels.
He also made special mention of the new ‘Home renovation’ action, which aims to make use of thousands of closed or old properties. The programme provides for a subsidy of up to €36,000 or 95% of the cost of works for low- and middle-income households. According to government estimates, the action could return up to 20,000 homes that are currently idle to the market.
At the same time, Mitsotakis called on citizens to participate in the second cycle of evaluation of public services, arguing that the first process had contributed to identifying problems and promoting reforms, such as those in urban planning.
On labour issues, he referred to the signing of a new collective agreement for food technologists and scientists, saying that the Greek initiative to strengthen collective agreements is now attracting interest at European level.
The prime minister also focused on the need for fire prevention, calling on citizens to clean their plots of land, while making special reference to the National Animal Protection Mechanism for the rescue and care of animals in cases of natural disasters.
On international affairs, he welcomed the framework agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing the view that it could contribute to stability in the Middle East and reduce energy pressures. At the same time, he underlined the upgrading of Greece’s energy role in the Eastern Mediterranean and referred to the country’s participation in the European defence financing instrument SAFE, which secures €700m for critical defence investments.
Concluding his post, the prime minister referred to International Father’s Day, describing fatherhood as one of the most important roles in his life and extending his wishes to all fathers.
