Marinakis also questioned whether the opposition, particularly PASOK, would apologise for describing the government as a ‘government of defendants’.
‘Will there be redress for these people who were targeted?’ he asked, accusing their critics of conducting ‘media trials’ against them.
Referring to the politicians whose cases were dropped, Marinakis claimed they had been unfairly targeted and called on the parties that had criticised them to restore their reputations.
‘They also have a personality and a family. Will there be corresponding redress for these people?’ he said.
The European Public Prosecutor’s Office has brought criminal charges against 22 people in connection with the OPEKEPE scandal, including four sitting New Democracy MPs.
The four MPs are Kostas Skrekas, Christos Boukoros, Maximos Senetakis and Katerina Papakosta. They face misdemeanour charges relating to the alleged unlawful management of EU agricultural subsidies.
