The circumstances of the accident remain unclear. Despite suffering serious injuries, the 48-year-old managed to use his mobile phone to call the emergency services himself.

Rescuers arrived at the scene and initially transported him to the Agia Health Centre. He was subsequently transferred to the University Hospital of Larissa, where he was pronounced dead despite doctors’ efforts.

According to onlarissa.gr, the 48-year-old lived in Volos and regularly travelled to Potamia to help his family with agricultural work.

The exact circumstances that caused the tractor to overturn are under investigation.
