The blaze is believed to have been caused by lightning and, according to local residents, had been burning since Wednesday.
The location is particularly difficult to reach, complicating firefighting efforts.
During Thursday’s operation, a firefighting helicopter was damaged when its water bucket became detached while collecting water from the Aoos river.
The pilot managed to land the helicopter near the river, while the two other crew members evacuated safely.
A team of technicians from Western Macedonia travelled to Konitsa to inspect the aircraft and carry out repairs.
A second helicopter also took part in the firefighting operation, while ground forces from the Fire Service remain at the scene and continue efforts to contain the blaze.

A separate fire also broke out on Thursday in an area of dry grass in the community of Katsikas, in the municipality of Ioannina.
The Fire Service was immediately mobilised.
Eight firefighters and four fire engines were deployed to the scene.
