Former Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, started his nationwide election campaign from Crete, beginning his visit from Chania on Tuesday morning, where he met with all Mayors of Chania Prefecture.

He said that the older generation of politicians have indebted Greece and have pushed the country to the edge. “Now it's time to get back on track” he added. The president of Syriza expressed his support to the local government and highlighted the importance of cooperation between the central government and the municipalities, regardless  of political preferences and ideologies.

Alexis Tsipras will visit Rethymno later today and will continue on Wednesday in Heraklion and Lassithi before moving on to central Greece and to Thessaloniki later this week.
