During a speech in the Austrian city of Alpbach the president of the Eurogroup spoke about Greece. "The Greek crisis did not delay the growth in the other countries of the Eurozone", he stated.
In addition he stressed that Greece needs to actively realize the aid program (memorandum) and it also needs to have political stability.
“A year ago, the Eurozone was considered to be a burden to the international economy, now it is among its strongest regions” he said while also urging the Eurozone members to take on more reforms since the growth s not sufficient. “We cannot sit back and relax, the estimated growth in the Eurozone is not enough”.
“In order to solidify our monetary union, financially and politically, we have to start again the engine of unification”. The countries of the Eurozone must achieve the convergence of work, products and investment if they are to avoid creating more distance between them.
