The next crucial piece of legislation concerns the pension schemes. Given that the average pensioner has suffered grave cuts in the past 5 years, any new additional reductions are expected to meet with reaction, criticism and even public outrage. It seems that all MP's who support the SYRIZA/ANEL coalition will give their vote but this is not carved in stone as it is clear that the new policies the government has to legislate and support are far from leftist in essence.
For that reason, many speculate on the possibility that A.Tsipras will opt to secure the support of a larger majority -even through the expansion of the government with the inclusion of minor parties. For the time being all concerned parties and leaders deny such a development but it cannot be positively excluded.
