His meeting with C.Lagarde concludes the formal capitulation of the Greek government regarding its previous position that the IMF should not be included in the latest “rescue program” that Greece has agreed with its' EuroZone creditors.

In his meeting with M.Draghi, the two man agreed that the first evaluation of the new program must be completed as soon as possible. The government issued a statement according to which “the meeting was held in a very positive climate and the development of the Greek program and the reforms were discussed”.

Before the meeting, M.Draghi had stated in an interview that he is optimistic regarding the future of the Greek program as well as the progress and the reforms that have been achieved. He noted that “we are in a much better condition than we were in June”. Mr.Draghi also stressed that the reforms of the Public Pension Scheme must be completed as soon as possible so that the country can return to being properly funded.

Although the Greek government wishes to present the visit of A.Tsipras as a successful one, the truth leaves much to be desired. The PM minister had a rather unlucky verbal clash with the German FinMin -in which Dr.Schauble  used the paraphrases' “it's the application, stupid” while trying to explain that if Europe is to remain united then everybody must adhere to what has been agreed.

The Greek PM is no more a politician who negates or threatens Europe. After this summers capitulation, his presence is one of a man who has accepted all the demands of his “opponents” and simply hopes for “mercy”, or solidarity as he calls it in his speeches.
