The Mediterranean sea seems to have returned to the sad days of 2013. There is information that at least 400 people were drowned during their attempt to reach Italy by boat from Egypt. According to BBC Arabic, four boats were overturned Sunday the vessel Aquarius collected 6 dead who had been spotted in a boat trying to reach the coast of Sicily
The rescue services were only able to save 29 people. Most of them were migrants for New Erytrea, Ethiopia and Somalia.
Should the information be confirmed, this will become yet another deadly incident in a long list of deaths in the sea by migrants who attempted to reach Italy.
The Italian President, Sergio Mattarella spoke of a tragedy with thousands of dean migrants in the Mediterranean sea.
The Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni spoke to reporters: “It is certain that we are facing another tragedy in the Mediterranean, exactly one year after the tragedy that we had outside Libya”.
