During the meeting, between Alexis Tsipras and  Zhang Dejiang, the Greek Prime Minister stressed the strategic importance of the Greek-Chinese relations adding that it is based on the economic cooperation on the one hand and the cooperation in culture and education on the other hand.
 
Mr. Tsipras commented that his visit to China coincides with Greece's exit from the crisis, also underlining that Greece aims to constitute a pole of stability, growth and promotion of cultural values and humanism. Greece's relations with China are developing on a mutually beneficial basis, he said.
 
On his part, the president of the People's Congress pointed out that China is the cradle of the eastern and Greece is the cradle of the western civilization. Mr. Dejiang expressed his pleasure that Greece received a positive program review and added that he would suggest a meeting between the presidents of the two parliaments.

The Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is set to also meet the Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang while the delegations of the two countries will hold broad meetings. The signing of bilateral agreements and the participation in a business forum is also on the Greek delegation's agenda for Monday.
 
Mr. Tsipras also visited Huawei Exhibition Center in Beijing commenting that “the Greek government is for the first time making a serious investment in the information and technology sectors, for these are oxygen to the economy”.
 
Meanwhile, the company’s rotating Chief Executive Guo Ping announced a three-year training program in new technologies for Greek students.
