According to ELSTAT official figures, the unemployment slightly dropped to 23.4% in June 2016 compared to 24.9% in June 2015 and 23.6% in May 2016
The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest seasonally adjusted figures on the labor force for June 2016, according to which the number of employed amounted to 3.674.957 persons and the number of unemployed to 1.124.541. Inactive population amounts to nearly 3,5 million persons.
Employment increased by 61.612 compared to June 2015 (+1.7%) and by 14.961 compared to May 2016 (+0.4%), while the unemployed decreased by 73.477 (-6.1%) compared to June 2015 and by 6.722 compared to May 2016 (-0.6%).
