After examining the work of graphic artists behind the election campaign of the parties, the blog site Frappelections, says, in a story aptly entitled ‘Copy paste’ (link in Greek), that Potami should be held to account for plagiarism and points to an election campaign poster which is almost identical to the one used by the American department store, Saks Fifth Avenue in its spring marketing campaign in 2009 by designer Shepard Fairey, the man behind the famous poster in Obama’s US election campaign.

The blog has posted the two posters side by side for readers to decide.

According to the blog, it’s not the first time that a project involving Stavros Theodorakis used material without attributing credit. The blog’s author claims that the news site run by Theodorakis', Protagon.gr, once used a photo of his in a story without credit or permission.

And Potami is doing it again now, the blog says, and should explain itself.

“I don’t know if they paid for rights or got permission or I don’t know what is required, but it would be interesting to find out how much they paid the designers that undertook the job. Perhaps the party, which is bringing change to the country, should explain,” the blog’s author says.
