U.S. military spokesman Colonel Patrick Ryder issued a statement saying that the rebels had to  give six pick-up trucks and ammo to Nusra, in all about one-quarter of the equipment that the US had given them.

The incident puts another dent to the American effort to train and supply local fighters against ISIS. The program seems to be under review as only a handful of rebels trained and equipped by the U.S. army were left fighting against the Islamic State in Syria. Military officials claim that this week many more have joined the fight but as Ryder said “If accurate, the report of NSF members providing equipment to al Nusra Front is very concerning and a violation of Syria train and equip program guidelines”.
