“Everybody wanted to avoid having a Grexit discussion at the same time as the Brexit discussion, so that’s achieved’’ Christine Lagarde told reporters after the G7 meeting in Ise-Shima.

“On the reform front, the Greek authorities have looked forward; they still have some works to do. We will continue to work with the Europeans on the implementation of measures, on what level of debt we are providing is needed for the Greek debt to be sustainable’’ Ms. Lagarde commented.

Ms. Lagarde also commented that she wants Greece to receive financing but the country still has work to do and that global economy is not in a 2008 style crisis.
