As is reported in this article by enetenglish.gr, the 5-minute film Insomnia was produced by Tim and Nils Kullack, both in their twenties, working with their parents Daniel and Alexandra. The family is originally from Germany but have lived on Kefalonia for a number of years and consider the island their home.

Accompanied by a haunting soundtrack the video depicts the extensive damage caused primarily by two roughly 6.0 magnitude earthquakes that came within a week of each other. Aside from these two major tremors that have severely damaged buildings, roads and caused a number of landslides, the island has also been shaken by hundreds of smaller aftershocks.

These, together with the fear that another major earthquake may be around the corner, has kept residents on edge. While there have been no fatalities reported from earthquakes many have been injured and hundreds of families have been living in cars and tents for over a week in poor weather. Insomnia also captures the anger residents directed toward Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias on his visit to the island.

The ends on a call for assistance, showing how despite the quakes Kefalonia remains a stunningly beautiful island to visit.
