In a press conference held in Berlin, M.Rajoy and A.Merkel appeared to be in complete alignment concerning the measures that Greece should take in order to remain in the Eurozone. At the same time they appeared to have the same understanding of European solidarity.
“We have very similar ideas about Greece, whether the changes are necessary and if our solidarity is needed. Germany and Spain are close on this subject, we are on a common path”, A.Merkel said.
Mr. Rajoy added that: “it is important that Greece will implement the changes”. At the same time, he mentioned that the main goal should be the economic growth and the creation of jobs. “This constitutes a secure basis in order for the country to be able to function on its own. If Greece honors the agreements, then it will have a future. We will always be there and, if things go well, if rationality wins and deals are kept, the things in Greece can go well in due time.
