The decision was taken today, 19 May 2026.

The first request concerned a lawsuit filed by judicial officers in Larissa in relation to Konstantopoulou’s role as a defence lawyer in the Tempi trial. A total of 162 MPs from New Democracy and PASOK voted in favour of lifting her immunity, 53 voted against, while 13 declared themselves ‘present’. In total, 228 MPs took part in the vote.

The second request concerned a lawsuit filed by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis for defamation, based on public statements made by Konstantopoulou regarding the Violanta factory. In this case, 177 MPs voted in favour of lifting immunity, 54 voted against and 13 declared themselves ‘present’, while PASOK chose to abstain. A total of 244 MPs voted.

The Greek Communist Party (KKE) abstained from both procedures, while the far-right Greek Solution party declared itself ‘present’.

During the debate, tensions ran high, with Konstantopoulou denouncing a violation of parliament’s rules of procedure and saying she was being politically targeted by the government majority.
