Καταπολεμώντας τις Πολιτικές Λιτότητας μέσα από την ανασυγκρότηση του Συνδικαλιστικού Κινήματος από τα Κάτω

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: Η δεύτερη ημέρα του συνεδρίου θα διεξαχθεί κανονικά στο αφμιθέατρο του Δήμου Καλυβίων. Ο Πρόεδρος του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ ΕΚΜ, Αλέξης Τσίπρας θα απευθύνει χαιρετισμό στις 1 το μεσημέρι.

Το Global Labour Institue, το Πανεπιστήμιο του Greenwich και το ThePressProject.gr διοραγώνουν διημερίδα στα Καλύβια Αττικής την Τρίτη 18 και την Τετάρτη 19 Ιουνίου με θέμα: «Καταπολεμώντας τις Πολιτικές Λιτότητας μέσα από την ανασυγκρότηση του Συνδικαλιστικού Κινήματος από τα Κάτω».

Στο συνέδριο θα πάρουν μέρος σημαντικοί ομιλητές από το εξωτερικό. Η οργάνωση έγινε δυνατή χάρη στην φιλοξενία του Δήμου Σαρωνικού και θα διεξαχθεί στο Αμφιθέατρο στο Δημαρχείο Καλυβίων.

Βιογραφικά ομιλητών / Short bios

Ian Greer is Professor of Comparative Employment Relations and Director of the Work and Employment Research Unit at the University of Greenwich in London. Prior to entering academia he worked in the US trade union movement. His research interests include trade unionism and welfare to work policies, both within a line of questioning about the social effects of marketization in Europe.  He received his PhD from Cornell University in the US and has been a visiting researcher in Germany, France, and Australia. 

David Hall is director of the Public Services International Research Unit (PSIRU) in the Business School, University of Greenwich, London.  David researches and teaches the politics and economics of public services, public finance and privatisation. David has special expertise in the sectors of water, energy, waste management, and healthcare. Before becoming director of PSIRU, David worked for over 25 years in teaching and research in public services, privatisation, and industrial relations for colleges, research institutions, and trade union research units.

Jane Lethbridge is Prinicipal Lecturer in the Business Scholl, University of Greenwich, London. She specialises in the analysis of global commercialisation of health and social care and its impact on health and social care workers, social dialogue and trade union responses to liberalisation and privatisation. Jane has worked on public health issues in the UK and internationally, for over 20 years, with experience of management and project implementation in both the public and NGO sectors. Since 1994, Jane has specialised in policy development and strategic management. As a health policy consultant after 1999, Jane was commissioned to look at how practitioners were implementing National Service Frameworks in the NHS. From 2001-07, Jane was Senior Research Fellow, Public Services International Research Unit (PSIRU) (www.psiru.org), University of Greenwich. Jane is currently developing research into the involvement of professionals in the improvement of public services. 

Dave Spooner is co-Director of the Global Labour Institute in the UK. His background is in trade union and workers' education, specialising in globalisation and international trade unionism, and with a particular interest in informal and precarious workers' organisation. Dave's career history includes teaching in the UK and international trade union movements; research, project management and support to informal economy workers' organisations; and consultancies and writing on international labour for a variety of trade union, NGO and governmental organisations. He has previously been General Secretary of the International Federation of Workers' Education Associations, the International Coordinator at the Organising Department of Unite the Union in the UK, and the Operations Manager/ Membership Coordinator of Women in Informal Employment Employment: Globalizing & Organizing (WIEGO). His current GLI responsibilities include coordination of the annual GLI International Summer School, research and education in support of international trade union organisation (food, transport and construction sectors) and informal economy organisation (home-based workers), and management of International Transportworkers' Federation (ITF) programmes organising among informal transport workers.

Miguel Martínez Lucio is a Professor at the University of Manchester.  He has published various texts and is involved in research on the subject of regulation and representation in relation to work and employment.  He is a founder member of the Critical Labour Studies network and has been engaged in work with social and public bodies in terms of research and education.

Maria Mantynen is a PhD student in the Business Scholl, University of Greenwich, London. Her thesis is related to an interdisciplinary evaluation of the Finnish Welfare System during the current Financial Crisis. She has worked and studied in Syria, Peru, Austria and Argentina.

Dan Gallin is Chair of the Global Labour Institute (GLI), a foundation established in 1997 with a secretariat in Geneva. The GLI investigates the consequences of the globalization of the world economy for workers and trade unions, develops and proposes counterstrategies and promotes international thought and action in the labour movement (www.global-labour.org). Gallin worked from August 1960 until April 1997 for the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant and Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers' Associations (IUF), since 1968 as General Secretary. He was born in 1931 as a Romanian citizen, became stateless in 1949 and was granted Swiss citizenship in 1969. He studied political science and sociology in the United States and in Switzerland and lives since 1953 in Geneva. He joined the socialist movement as a student in the United States in 1951 and has been a member of the Swiss Social-Democratic Party since 1955. He is a member of the Swiss General Workers' Union UNIA and was a member of one of its predecessors, the Swiss Commercial, Transport and Food Workers' Union, since 1960. He has served as President of the International Federation of Workers' Education Associations (IFWEA) from 1992 to 2003 and has been Director of the Organization and Representation Program (ORP) of WIEGO (Women in Informal Employment Globalizing and Organizing) from June 30, 2000 to July 31, 2002. He continues to serve on the Advisory Committee of the WIEGO ORP. He is currently researching union organization of women workers in the informal economy, labour movement history and issues of policy and organization in the international trade union movement.
 
Χριστόφορος Βερναρδάκης Ο Χριστόφορος Βερναρδάκης γεννήθηκε το 1961 στην Αθήνα. Αποφοίτησε το 1985 από το Τμήμα Πολιτικής Επιστήμης και Δημόσιας Διοίκησης του ΕΚΠΑ και έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στην Πολιτική Επιστήμη στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Σορβόννης (Paris ΙΙ). To 1995 υποστήριξε τη διδακτορική του διατριβή στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, με θέμα την οργάνωση και τη θέση στο Κράτος των πολιτικών κομμάτων στην Ελλάδα 1974-1985. Από το 1993 έως και το 2004 ασχολήθηκε με την εφαρμοσμένη πολιτική και κοινωνική έρευνα, μέσα από την εταιρεία ερευνών κοινής γνώμης και δημοσκοπήσεων VPRC, την οποία είχε ιδρύσει το 1993 και διετέλεσε Πρόεδρός της έως το 2004 και κατόπιν Επιστημονικός Σύμβουλος. Από το 2004 έως το 2009 υπηρέτησε ως Λέκτορας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης, στο Τμήμα Πολιτικής Επιστήμης. Από το 2009 υπηρετεί ως Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στο ΑΠΘ, στο Τμήμα Πολιτικών Επιστημών. Πιο πρόσφατη μονογραφία του είναι το βιβλίο «Πολιτικά Κόμματα, Εκλογές και Κομματικό Σύστημα – Οι μετασχηματισμοί της αντιπροσώπευσης 1990-2010» που εκδόθηκε το 2011 από τις εκδόσεις Σάκκουλα.  Επιστημονικές εργασίες και άρθρα του έχουν δημοσιευτεί στα αγγλικά και στα γαλλικά.  Παράλληλα, έχει επιμεληθεί μια σειρά από εκδόσεις και συλλογικούς τόμους με αντικείμενο την πολιτική – εκλογική συμπεριφορά, τη θεωρία των πολιτικών κομμάτων και την εμπειρική πολιτική – κοινωνική έρευνα.
 Είναι σήμερα μέλος του Δ.Σ. της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Πολιτικής Επιστήμης (ΕΕΠΕ), στο οποίο από τον Ιούνιο του 2010 κατέχει τη θέση του ταμία, του Ινστιτούτου “Νίκος Πουλαντζάς”, καθώς και του Ιδρύματος Γληνού. Επίσης είναι μέλος του Συλλόγου Εταιρειών Δημοσκοπήσεων και Ερευνας Αγοράς (ΣΕΔΕΑ), καθώς και του Επιστημονικού Συμβουλίου της Εθνικής Συνομοσπονδίας Ελληνικού Εμπορίου (ΕΣΕΕ).  

Paolo Borioni is a historian from Rome La Sapienza and KUA Copenhagen University. His main interests are social democracy, the Nordic countries, the welfare state and economic history; he has written or edited nine books and a large number of papers and articles on these subjects. He undertakes research for universities and centre-left think tanks. He is a member of the scientific advisory board of Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, where he also takes care of think tank projects and international networks. He currently works for the centre-left in Italy.

Krastyo Petkov Professor Krastyo Petkov, PhD, is a lecturer in Sociology at the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria and the European College of Economy and Management, Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He was also the Chairman of the Confederation of Independent Unions in Bulgaria from 1990 to 1998 and a Member of Parliament from 2001 to 2005.
