Anika Brightheart said that: “Technical divisions of the institutions are returning this week to Athens to resume deliberations with the Greek authorities. Their return are an important step towards the preparation of the return of the chiefs of the institutions in the close future”.

The first technical division of the institutions is already expected to arrive to Athens within the day. The division is to work on fiscal reforms. Two more divisions are to follow in order to work on the National Pension Scheme and the “red” (delayed payment) loans.

The heads of the institutions are expected, according to all available information, in March.

The reasons behind the delay of their revisit are attributed to the fact that all the crucial issues are still open as well as the fact that the institutions themselves do not seem to have come to an agreement concerning the policies that should be followed. The Greek side claims that the main problem arises from the insistence of the IMF on tough austerity policies.
