According to government officials, A.Tsipras stressed that:

“’Till today I see reactions, I read heroic statements but I have heard no alternative proposal to the blackmailing dilemma of July 12th.

If some believe that the alternative plan of the left is Schauble’s plan; to seize the stock of bills from the ECB, or to pay the pensioners with IOU papers rather than pensions, let them come out and explain that to the Greek people.

I am fully aware that I have undertaken the responsibility of a difficult compromise. Yet it is a compromise which keeps us alive and able to continue fighting.

Tomorrow we are voting for the last “prior actions” and then for about a month we have no more legislative obligations. Therefore we must put all our efforts in the negotiations for the new loan agreement.

The outcome of these negotiations will be crucial, and our government will have to take advantage of any and all political and social alliances that we might have in Europe in order to achieve the best possible results.

At the same time we have to put our weight behind the four following goals:

-The fight against corruption and interrelations between the political and economic elite.

-The achievement of important  and much needed reforms on the political system

-The endorsement of focused action for the support of the weakest social groups

-The effort to bring investments to the country so that they will balance out the recession of our economy

Regarding the “day after” the agreement, it is necessary that we make a complete assessment of our progress and draw our strategy according to the “new” reality.

SYRIZA, the party, must stand close to society.  It must be ready to welcome the fears and expectations of the tens of thousands of citizens who place their hopes upon the party. Having done that, it must-orderly and in accordance to the democratic character of the left-  lead to those procedures which will help us decide the goals and the essence of a left government within the new reality.”
