During these elections what is most interesting is that there is no serious dilemma presented to the voters. Most parties, and certainly those who seem to gather the biggest percentages at the polls, have already shown that they will not oppose the memorandum. Their policies will be greatly affected, if not dictated by what has already been agreed within the Eurozone. For that reason the leaders of the two stronger parties; SYRIZA and ND seem to exhaust their rhetoric in accusing each other that they represent what is old and stuffy whilst trying to persuade the voters that they are the most suitable of imposing the same policy that their opponents will.

The polls give no clear indication of a winner and in any case they have not been that accurate for several elections in the past so they should be taken lightly.

The most recent poll by MARC for the Sunday edition of “Ethnos” gives SYRIZA 24,4%, ND 24%, XA 5,9%, Potami 5,1%, KKE 4,8%, PASOK 4,3%, EK 3,6%, LAE 3,6%, ANEL 2,8%.
