The EuroWorking Group which met today in Brussels is urging Greece to complete the implementation of the remaining prior actions within the next 24 hours
This was the final prerequisite before the release of the promised 7,7 bn euro tranche from the European lenders to Greece According to an European official, Greece committed itself that it would manage to fill in any last remaining details. The same official said that this was a very good development.
He noted that these last details concern specific administrative decrees
-The deal on the use of the old Athens airport area.
-The deal between the Greek Phone service provider and Deutsche Telekom.
-The working plan on the Civilian Aviation authority, which is taken back to September yet some progress must be shown.
After these details have been closed, the lenders are expected to confirm in writing, to the Eurogroup, that the procedures are progressing and that they are going to submit the new proposals to various Eurozone houses of parliaments.
At the same time, sources close the Greek FinMin assured that the tranche would be available to Greece by the end of June.
In the meantime, the Athenian news agency, APE/MPE, reported that according to European sources, the compliance report of the European Commission on the Greek progress was initially positive.
The final green light for the release of the 7,5bn euro will be given by the board of directors of the European Stability Mechanism on June 16-17, during the EuroGroup that is scheduled for those dates.
The EU commissioners, Valdis Dombrovskis and Pierre Moskovici are going to brief the working team of the European parliament. The team follows the implementation of the thrid bailout deal by the Greek state.
