Tempe case: Greeks abroad held protests in over 100 cities across Europe, the US, and Australia

In a statement, the Greek Community of Berlin declared:

“Two years have passed since the tragedy in Tempe—decades of neglect, mismanagement of public funds, and unsafe infrastructure led to this disaster—and we are still waiting for full transparency and accountability. Those responsible must be held to account. The truth cannot be buried.”

Their demands included:

• Justice for the victims – The truth belongs to all of us, not just the victims’ families but Greek society as a whole.
• Full transparency – No more hidden evidence, no more delays.
• A better future – The new generation deserves safety, not cover-ups

Protests took place in dozens of cities, including Wageningen in the Netherlands, London, Madrid, and Copenhagen. In Italy, Greek communities in Bologna and Siena also held demonstrations, while in Latin America, the powerful slogan “I have no oxygen” was heard in Montevideo.
