Footage circulated online shows Mayor Beos aggressively shoving Mr Limnios, ordering him to leave his office. Limnios had attempted to attend the press statements when the confrontation unfolded. According to reports, the situation escalated to physical violence, prompting Limnios and fellow DEYAMB board member and academic Fay Tzanetoulakou to file a legal complaint against the mayor, citing abuse, verbal assault, and unlawful behaviour.

Tzanetoulakou claimed she was also physically mistreated during the incident, alleging her wrist was twisted by individuals trying to prevent her from recording the altercation on video.

In a controversial turn, Mayor Beos filed counter-complaints against both Limnios and Tzanetoulakou, accusing them of disrupting official proceedings. As a result, Limnios was detained by the Magnesia Police Directorate, and Tzanetoulakou was also taken to court under the same charges.

Following his arrest, Beos was released upon the oral order of a public prosecutor.
