A case was confirmed on 10 July 2026 at a farm in Dimitra, Gortynia, where 18 sheep were culled in accordance with the prescribed health protocols.
Two further cases were confirmed on 19 July at farms in the village of Kandila, in the Municipality of Tripoli. A total of 70 animals were culled at one farm and 109 at the other, as required under disease-control protocols.
The Peloponnese Region’s Veterinary Services are continuing intensive inspections and clinical surveillance at all farms within the designated protection and surveillance zones, while enforcing the measures intended to contain the disease.
