The 50-year-old had been intubated at Thriasio Hospital in an extremely critical condition after sustaining severe head injuries. His 43-year-old colleague died the previous day from similar injuries.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident. On Friday, police arrested a 59-year-old contractor responsible for the external crew employing the two workers. Three more company employees were arrested on Saturday.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against those arrested on charges of causing an explosion and causing damage that endangered public safety. Authorities are also searching for a 67-year-old man in connection with the same offences.
