Government in red alert, pending the troika’s return
Critical negotiations on seven essential issues just after New Year’s
The government as a whole is on “red alert” status, as the troika is returning the Monday after next, on January 13, with seven issues to resolve that are pending since last July. The first target of the government is to secure the tranche of €4.9 bln that was originally scheduled to be disbursed in December. Secondarily, at least in concept, a course has to be set regarding the funding and fiscal gap of 2014-2015 so that the “interim fiscal framework 2013-2017” can be set. All of this will be discussed today in Maximos Megaron in a conference with the financial team, that the prime minister himself is presiding.
