The organisation says it intervened to “return” the property to a family whose home was auctioned in March 2025 to DoValue and the Cairo Real Estate fund. According to the group, the eviction proceeded despite the presence of a cancer patient in the household.

In its statement, “Continuous Struggle” said:

“We took back the family’s house in Moschato. We are effectively cancelling the eviction and seizure of the home by funds and banks.”

The group notes that although the Cairo Real Estate fund and DoValue were aware of the wife’s serious health problems, the family’s legal proceedings, and their eligibility for vulnerability protections, the eviction was carried out on 10 July, leaving them without shelter.

The woman was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and has undergone chemotherapy since. Her condition has recently worsened and she has spent several months in hospital. Her husband and daughter have been dividing their time between the hospital, hotels and short-term rentals. She has now been discharged and, according to the group, requires a stable living environment to avoid further deterioration of her health.

The statement alleges that DoValue rejected every proposal for settlement, including the family’s offer to remain in the property as tenants.

The organisation frames its intervention against a broader context of evictions and auction activity. “While most people are preparing to spend the holidays with their families, others are being thrown out of their homes for the sake of the banks, which are robbing our class,” it says.

“In the face of this systemic violence, we do not forget those confronting it and we stand beside them every day. With today’s action, we are breaking the intimidation practised by funds and banks and returning the home to the family. We return to our class what belongs to it through the fight for the self-evident right to housing.”

The statement concludes: “People’s homes are saved by the people, through solidarity and class struggle.”
