The official statement by the Hellenic Air Force reads:
“On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 13:29, an F-16 Block 52+ single-seater from the 337 Squadron, belonging to the 110th Fighter Wing, crashed into the sea near Psathoura during a training flight.
Efforts to rescue the pilot are in full swing, involving a Super Puma helicopter from the 130th Combat Group, a Navy S-70 helicopter, a CL-415 aircraft from the 113 Combat Wing, and the ‘Aegean’ Frigate en route to the crash site. Additionally, a C-130 aircraft is on high alert.
