Vozeberg recently appeared on Aris Portosalte’s radio show, where she attacked Karystianou, whose daughter died in the Tempe crash. Vozeberg accused Karystianou of being manipulated by SYRIZA and attempting to “slander the country” through her pursuit of justice. Karystianou responded on social media, writing, “If only you didn’t stand against the victims and with the perpetrators. There is no shame, only arrogance and indifference.”

Arvanitis expressed concerns ahead of Apostolos Tzitzikostas’s upcoming hearing as a Commissioner candidate, suggesting that the appointment of Tzitzikostas, alongside Vozeberg’s position in the TRAN Committee, signals a coordinated effort between the Mitsotakis government and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to downplay the tragedy. “Vozeberg, as chair of the European Parliament’s TRAN Transport Committee, has stated that MEPs should avoid revealing state failures, effectively advocating for concealing truths from both the European institutions and citizens,” Arvanitis said.

He warned that with Tzitzikostas as Transport Commissioner and Vozeberg leading the European Parliament’s Transport Committee, attempts to obscure accountability for the Tempe crash, which killed 57 people, will intensify. “Vozeberg has already crossed her institutional bounds by attacking a grieving mother seeking justice, rather than working transparently as required of her role,” Arvanitis concluded.
