At least 36 people died in a series of explosions in the Istanbul Ataturk airport. At least 147 people were injured and taken to hospitals. The perpetrators detonated the explosives just before the x-ray check point.
Three gunmen (or even seven according to other sources), believed to be wearing suicide vests, opened fire at the airport’s international terminal on Tuesday evening.
There is still a lot of confusion regarding the number of explosions as well as the victims. Two or three explosions were reported while it is not yet known if this was a grenade attack or a suicide bombing.
