Eugenia Siapera is a teacher, author and researcher specializing in social media, journalism, new forms of politics and cultural diversity. She is the academic coordinator of the EU-funded Safety Net for Journalists project and holds positions at Dublin City University in Ireland and Aristotle University in Greece. Her most recent book is the Handbook of Global Online Journalism (2012, co-edited with Andreas Veglis). She has previously published Understanding New Media (Sage, 2012) and Cultural Diversity and Global Media (Wiley, 2010). Her articles have appeared in several journals, most recently in the International Journal for Cultural Studies and Journalism Studies.
