In his statement, Koutsoumbas said:
“Farmers, not only do not ‘trouble society’, as the government continues to provocatively claim, but they ‘pave the way’ for the struggle for justice and survival of all the people to be strengthened. This is why they have the support of the vast majority of the people, against the government’s methods.”
He added that this was demonstrated by the stance and solidarity shown by organic farmers towards the families of the victims of the Tempe train disaster, who continue to demand justice.
Koutsoumbas concluded by identifying a shared adversary: “Ultimately, the enemy is common, it is the politics of profit, the hostile current state, the rotten EU, which sacrifices the needs of the many for the interests of the few.”
