They expressed disappointment over derogatory remarks made by officials towards their investigation into the catastrophic event that claimed 57 lives. They emphasise that their investigation, supported by both domestic and international experts, is progressing with a growing body of solid facts and advanced technology at its core.

These experts, encompassing a wide range of professions and specialities, are united by their commitment to justice and improving conditions in Greece to match those of developed European democracies.

The letter criticises the Prime Minister’s dismissive attitude towards these independent investigators and urges patience and respect for the ongoing judicial process. It also highlights the global nature of information and technology, suggesting that the outcome of their investigation will have implications beyond Greece’s borders.

The signatories, representing one of the expert groups, call for accountability and transparency in addressing the Tempe disaster, advocating for a Greece that all its citizens can be proud of. The letter closes by reminding that, despite national borders, information and technology remain boundless, indirectly critiquing the government’s approach to handling the aftermath of the tragedy.
