According to local news outlet LamiaReport, the worker sustained extremely serious injuries in the fall.

An ambulance from Greece’s National Emergency Aid Centre (EKAB) transported him to Lamia Hospital, where he was intubated. Despite doctors’ efforts, he later died from his injuries.

The Lamia Police Department has launched a preliminary investigation into the circumstances of the fatal accident.

The death comes a week after a 67-year-old worker was killed in an explosion at a vinegar production factory in Examilia, Corinth, once again bringing workplace health and safety conditions in Greece into public focus.
