Speaking to ANT1, Mr Grivas said he was bitterly disappointed by the behaviour of most officers in court. ‘They should come out publicly and apologise,’ he said. ‘The only one who did was the guard. The rest took an ironic stance.’ Referring to official claims that the officers were simply ‘doing their duty’, he added, with visible intensity: ‘My daughter is rotting and they are talking to me about duty.’

He described the emotional toll of the case and the pressure of the proceedings. ‘My child is dead for almost two years,’ he said. Asked whether he felt vindicated by the court’s measures, Mr Grivas replied: ‘No,’ while adding that he still placed his faith in the justice system to secure convictions: ‘I have confidence in justice that these people will be severely punished and convicted.’

Mr Grivas said the apologies he had expected had not materialised. ‘The only one who approached me and went to apologise was the guard,’ he said. ‘The other three maintained an ironic attitude towards me and my entire family… They come to court and say “we did what we had to, the problem was not ours”.’ He accused them of distancing themselves from responsibility and treating the affair lightly while his family continued to seek answers.

Concluding his remarks, Mr Grivas repeated his painful demand for accountability. ‘Where is my daughter? Since they all did their duty. Now that we are talking, my daughter is rotting and these incompetent police officers are coming out and telling me about duty,’ he said.
