The 39-year-old man accused of murdering his wife in Ampelokipi, Athens will appear before the investigating judge on Tuesday to provide his testimony.
According to ERT, during the preliminary investigation, the suspect expressed remorse and claimed to be in shock, describing the incident as a “crime of passion.” Attempting to deflect responsibility, he alleged that he overheard his wife speaking on the phone with another man and telling him that she planned to take one of their two children and leave.
The suspect is currently in custody and will face the investigator tomorrow. Given the substantial evidence against him, the outcome of his legal proceedings is awaited.
This marks the 15th recorded femicide in Greece since the beginning of the year.
