The restrictions include the gradual narrowing of Stournari, Spyrou Trikoupi and Arachovis streets, along with bans on stopping and parking along designated sections of the surrounding road network.

On Stournari Street, between its junctions with Economou Street and Spyrou Trikoupi Street, the carriageway will gradually be narrowed to approximately four metres. Similar restrictions will apply to Spyrou Trikoupi Street, between Stournari and Themistokleous, where the minimum available width will also be approximately four metres.

On Arachovis Street, approximately ten metres before its junction with Stournari and Economou streets, the carriageway will be narrowed to around 5.5 metres. In all three cases, the restrictions will affect the left-hand side of the road in the direction of traffic.

Stopping and parking will also be prohibited on both sides of Spyrou Trikoupi Street, between Stournari and Solomou, and on Economou Street, between Tositsa and Stournari. On Tositsa Street, the ban will apply to the left-hand side between Tsamadou and Economou.

A maximum speed limit of 30 km/h will apply throughout the wider construction area. Drivers are advised to exercise particular caution and comply with road signs.

Construction of the Exarchia metro station has repeatedly sparked protests by residents and local groups, particularly over the fencing off of Exarchia Square and the impact of the project on the neighbourhood’s public spaces.
