On the afternoon of Thursday, 8 May, Hellenic Train’s IC54 service from Athens to Thessaloniki was delayed by 96 minutes due to a technical fault, leaving 210 passengers waiting and causing significant inconvenience.hellenic train

The company announced that the train, which was scheduled to depart at 14:58, eventually left Athens nearly an hour and a half late. Hellenic Train stated that it took immediate action to manage the situation, prioritising the needs of the affected passengers.

During the delay, staff kept passengers informed with announcements and distributed water and snacks while they waited.

The company also noted that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the issue.
