It is estimated that the total number of migrants stranded in Greece is around 22,000.

No more than 300 migrants from Iraq and Syria were allowed through the borders of Fyrom during Saturday. The borders remained closed for all others. In effect, more than 6,500 migrants  have been stranded at the camp of Idomeni, next to the borders, while 400 more are camped a few miles behind.

At the same time there are 3,150 migrants left in the Greek islands. The numbers accumulated after the decision, by the Greek state to keep them in the islands rather than transport them to the mainland. Since their passage to central Europe is being denied, the flux has stopped.

The Greek deputy minister for migration, Yannis Mouzalas stated that there is an estimate that there are 22,000 people spread in various areas in Greece while he also noted that they are expected to rise to 40,000 to 50,000 by the end of next month.
