The international business conference, themed ‘Western Alliances and Strategic Convergence’, aims to provide a forum for discussions on the future of transatlantic relations and cooperation among Western allies. US senators, members of the House of Representatives, senior White House advisers and leading American business executives are expected to attend.

Previous Breitbart events have featured senior US administration officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

Matthew Boyle, Breitbart’s Washington bureau chief, plays a central role in coordinating the network’s international initiatives. He has conducted numerous exclusive interviews with international political leaders, including Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Breitbart News, which is organising the inaugural summit in Athens, disclosed the identities of its editors for the first time in 2024. Many of them also work for companies owned by Steve Bannon, one of US President Donald Trump’s most controversial associates and backers.

Bannon, who served as Trump’s chief strategist and senior adviser and became a leading ideologue of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, took control of Breitbart following the death of its founder, Andrew Breitbart, before formally stepping down from its leadership.

Bannon was among more than 30 people summoned to testify about the events leading up to the storming of the US Capitol on 6 January 2021. The US Department of Justice subsequently brought contempt of Congress charges against him after he refused to cooperate with the House committee investigating the attack or hand over requested records and documents.
