The panel features:
Erin Axelman, co-director of the award-winning documentary Israelism
Richard C. Ledes, screenwriter and director of V13
Jack Starobin, activist with the US student movement against genocide
Lamprini Thoma, journalist at EJF, IJF and The Press Project
The discussion will be moderated by Faye Tzanetoulakou, art historian, researcher at the University of Thessaly, and co-founder of the Gaza Biennale.

The conference takes place as Israel intensifies its targeted killings of Palestinian journalists during its ongoing invasion of Gaza, a campaign aimed at cutting off independent reporting from both Gaza and the West Bank. At a time when journalism itself is under direct attack, the event seeks to highlight the sacrifices of Palestinian reporters and to examine what international media artists and creators can do to amplify their voices.
“This panel will be an opportunity to hear from four media artists and social media creators as they describe their current efforts and to join with them in an exchange of ideas around what media artists and social media creators can do now to make a difference,” organisers said in their announcement.

The Olive Press Conference is organised by Good Soup Media LLC in conjunction with The Press Project, and coincides with the Gaza Biennale 2025 – an international initiative that brings together artists, scholars, and activists in solidarity with Palestine.
