According to flashnews.gr, a Hellenic Coast Guard vessel carried out the rescue with assistance from a Danish-flagged cargo ship and a Frontex surveillance aircraft. The rescued people were transferred onto the cargo ship, which is being escorted to the port of Paleochora in Crete.

Earlier the same day, another 30 refugees were rescued from a dinghy found 25 nautical miles south of Gavdos by a Frontex vessel and were also brought safely to Paleochora.
