The jury acquitted the mother with a 4 to 3 majority on charges of facilitating prostitution, and unanimously cleared her of creating child pornography. The minority, comprising the three regular judges, sided with the prosecution on the pandering charge, allowing for a possible appeal.

While the mother was found guilty of a lesser charge of extortion, her sentence may be offset by the time already served. In a separate ruling, the court handed down a life sentence to the 55-year-old main suspect, showing no clemency, a decision which was received with public relief.
